Dear...

Dear telephone,

Please ring this morning. Please ring and have someone on the other end wanting me to come in to interview for a great job. Please ring and let me know that my skills and experience are worth something. Please just ring.

Love,
me

Dear Employer,

Please don't just assume that since my husband is in the military we will be leaving. If you do the math you might figure out that he's pretty close to retirement. I've already been raked over the coals by moving so many times and not holding a job for more than a few years. Please don't hold that against me. Please look at my past work history and be impressed with the varied jobs I have held and the ability to adapt to new places and jobs. Please interview me and give me a chance to tell you on my own that we're here to stay and I'm looking for a long-term position with retirement and all the stuff that goes with it. Please give me a chance to show you that I'm a quick learner, able to work on my own as well as part of a team, and that I'd be a darn good addition to whatever organization decides to hire me. Just give me a chance...

Love,
me

Dear self,

OK, it is almost 9am. Time to hang up the modem and iron clothes. Nobody can call if you are on the modem!

Love,
me
